The farm is in full gear now. Farmer Don has all the beds ready for planting. We made the decision to space out the beds this year to allow more space between them. It was a big task to move the beds and being "no-till" we are sad to be shifting the soil but this will help us manage weeds much better!
Carrots, beets, Hakurei turnips, tatsoi and lots of greens are now planted. We just need to stop having the cold evenings we have been experiencing to get other crops in too!
Farmer Tracey spends most of her time playing Tetris moving plant starts around to harden them off (that means getting them used to the direct sun) and keep them warm at night. There are over 4,000 plants to take care of!
We are excitedly getting ready for the opening of our Annual Plant Sale this weekend. It's a time to meet with our Fresh Food Enthusiasts and talk plants, veggies and more!
The farm stand will be fully stocked this weekend with produce, flowers and of course fresh baked goods.
See you at the farm!
PS See the tables in the hoop house getting ready for the plant sale?!
